Bas, the Queens-based rapper signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records, is set to drop his debut album Last Winter on Apr. 29.

Known for his Quarter Water Raised Me series, Bas is delivering a conceptual project for Last Winter, which touches on cold days in New York City recording the album. “Ced Brown and I would be recording in my basement and it’s cold and we’re broke," he says in a press release. When we would make a hot record, we would look at each other and say ‘last winter,’ like ‘this is our last winter. We are not going to be living like this anymore. We’re going to elevate our situation.’ It became a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

The first single is "Charles de Gaulle To JFK" that showcases his lyricism over a smooth-sounding beat by Ron Gilmore. Give it a listen above.
